Giants game!

I was so excited! I was finally going to my first football game. My father and I went to the Giants game. They were playing the Colts. We had to travel on 3 different trains. First we took the Long Island Railroad to Penn Station. Then we took the New Jersey line to the Meadowlands. It was a long trip, but it was worth it. When we arrived at the game we ate hotdogs and fries. They were delicious. The field was so big so we weren’t able to walk all the way around the stadium. We had much fun that day. I haven’t been able to go back yet, I will soon.

Baby Ellie!


My cousin just had a new baby girl! I couldn’t be happier. Her name is Eleanor. Her hair couldn’t be redder then a rose and her eyes couldn’t be browner then a brownie. She was born in the middle of a blizzard and it couldn’t have been colder then if we were to go to Alaska. It was the biggest blizzard in 2010. After I found out I drove down to Washington, DC. The trip couldn’t have been longer than if we drove to California. We hit so much traffic. My Mom and I couldn’t have been tireder. It took us 7 hours, when it usually takes us 5 hours. When we arrived we had to sleep in a hotel which couldn’t have been nicer. The pool was larger then any pool I had ever seen. The room was more colorful then any other room I had seen. My family and I ate dinner together and the dinner was better than a personal chef. We had much fun together and we are all very excited we have a new family member.

Wedding


This weekend I was in a wedding. It was lovely. The bride wore a beautiful long white dress that was likely to be the longest dress I have ever seen. She moved slowly and quietly down the isle. I really do not know how people put together such an event. It was so simply decorated. I had much fun.

Encounter

We both met at Willie’s Bookstore last Thursday evening,

I waited with my dad in the endless line for over an hour,

She signed the title pages of each book placed in front of her,

I silently handed over my copy with its worn and tattered cover,

She smiled and winked when she saw how much I loved her story.

She slid my book back across the table and thanked me for the compliment.

Mustache for Kids


Mustaches for Kids is a non-profit organization sponsored by Sloan Kettering Memorial Hospital. One cold day in February my friends and I gathered in a large facility. In this beautiful, large, facility many people gathered in support of this great, generous organization. We played fun and exciting games, had interesting raffles and ate delicious food. The object of this organization is the men who were showing their excellent support had to grow mustaches from January to February. The men also dressed up in funny costumes. Each costume had to imitate a character with a hairy mustache. They wore costumes such as scary pirates, speedy race car drivers and athletic baseball players. We all had a great night and raised around $35,000 dollars.

Blue Man Group




For Valentine’s Day weekend, I went to see a show at the Astor Place Theatre. The name of the show was the Blue Man Group. I was very excited because I had heard from my friends great things about the performance. During the performance, the Blue Men acted out scenarios using various types of instruments such as paint, tubes, toilet paper, drums and much more. The Blue Men are not allowed to speak to each other or anyone in the audience. During the performance, they selected volunteers to join them on stage and perform. One example was they selected a volunteer from the audience and took him behind the stage. The Blue Men were walking around the stage looking for people to help them perform their acts, and then it happen. The Blue Men spotted me. They came over to my seat and tried to pull me onto stage. I did not want to go, but I had no choice. The Blue Men then dressed me up as a Blue Women and began their first act. In the beginning, I was embarrassed, but as we continued the act I started feeling more comfortable and had a lot of fun. After the act was over everyone clapped and I went back to my seat. I will always remember going to see the Blue Man Group. I never thought I would be able to go on stage in front of hundreds of people but I learned then that I was able to do it.

Shopping in Manhattan




This weekend my cousins Carly, Corry, and Caitlyn came to New York, from Washington D.C., to do some after the holiday shopping. After hours of walking we decided to go to The Carnegie Deli for some New York sandwiches. It was there that our waiter brought us to our table and gave us our menus. There were many choices. The waiter brought us our food on plates. Our sandwiches were huge. I dropped my utensils on the floor so the waiter brought me a clean fork, knife and spoon. The sandwiches were very messy so my family used many napkins. When we finished our meal my Dad went back to work and the rest of the family continued shopping. We decided to walk because we ate so much!
